Today is dad's 63rd Birthday. There are not a lot of words to say. Just a lot of sadness. Sadness because we can't celebrate his birthday with him. Sadness because we are now having to do many 1sts without him. Sadness because every time we celebrate, it's going to be without him. But today, even though there will be much sadness, we are going to celebrate. Celebrate a wonderful and loving and caring man. Today we will have cake, sing Happy Birthday, enjoy everyone's company, tell stories, eat, drink, and laugh. Today we are going to celebrate you, Daddy. If you were here, I would call you and sing Happy Birthday, and then tell you that you're 63, which is almost 65, which is almost 70. You hated that. But I still always did it. I'm hoping today many people will come help us celebrate your birthday. I'm hoping there will be many stories with lots of laughter. I'm hoping everyone here remembers how amazing you are. I'm hoping I don't cry for eternity tomorrow. After your birthday party, we will head over to see your grave and spend time with you. Maybe even dress up your headstone a little bit. Then if everything goes as planned, we will head to Texas Roadhouse for dinner. You are so jelly right now, aren't you? Yummy rolls! We will all be here together. All be here to celebrate you.
